Squeaks, gaps and lifting planks almost always trace back to what was under the floor: a subfloor that was not flat, moisture that was never checked, or material that went down the day it arrived instead of acclimating. We check all three before a single board is cut.

- Luxury Vinyl PlankWaterproof LVP for kitchens, baths and finished basements, with the underlayment it actually needs.
- TileFloor tile set on a properly prepped and, where called for, uncoupled substrate so grout lines do not crack.
- Subfloor PrepFlattening, screwing down squeaks, moisture testing and transitions between rooms and materials.

Walkthrough & Measure
We measure, check how flat and how dry the subfloor is, and look at how the new floor meets your doors and stairs.

Estimate & Material
Itemized estimate naming the product and finish, including any subfloor work the room actually needs.

Acclimation & Prep
Material sits in the house to acclimate while we flatten the subfloor and deal with squeaks.

Installation
Racked and installed, with transitions, thresholds and trim cut to fit rather than caulked to hide gaps.

Finish & Walkthrough
Sand, stain and coat where applicable, then a walkthrough — and clear guidance on when to walk on it and move furniture back.

Before You Sign Anything.
Refinish what I have, or replace it?
If the boards are solid and thick enough to sand, refinishing is usually the better spend. We will pull a vent or a threshold and look at the actual thickness before telling you either way.
How much dust does refinishing make?
Less than it used to, but it is not zero. We use dust containment and seal off the work area. Expect to keep the rest of the house closed off while it runs.
Can we stay in the house?
Usually yes, but you lose the rooms being worked on, and finish needs time to cure before furniture comes back. We will give you the timeline up front so you can plan around it.
How long before I can walk on it?
It depends on the finish. Water-based cures faster than oil. You will get specific timing for walking, for pets, and for putting rugs back down — putting a rug on uncured finish is the classic mistake.
Do you move the furniture?
We can, and it should be in the estimate rather than a surprise on day one. Tell us at the walkthrough what needs moving.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration #212825, with liability insurance and workers’ compensation.
