Siding

Siding That Takes a New England Winter.

Vinyl, fiber cement and cedar, installed over house wrap that is actually detailed right. Most siding failures are not the siding — they are the flashing behind it. We treat that as the job.

Why Monteiro

What Goes On Behind It Is What Keeps It Dry.

Siding is the part you see, but the water management behind it is the part that decides whether your sheathing is sound in ten years. We tear off, inspect what is underneath, and fix rot before anything new goes up — rather than covering it and moving on.

How A Project Runs

Five Stages, In This Order.

  1. Walkthrough & Measure

We measure the elevations, look at your current flashing details, and talk through material and color.

  2. Estimate & Materials

An itemized estimate with the material named, plus a written allowance for any rot we find behind the old siding.

  3. Tear-Off & Inspection

Old siding comes off and we inspect the sheathing. If something is wrong back there, you see it before it gets covered.

  4. Wrap & Flashing

House wrap, then window, door and roof-line flashing — the layer that does the actual work.

  5. Siding, Trim & Cleanup

Panels and trim go on, we run a magnet over the yard for nails, and we walk the job with you.

Common Questions

Before You Sign Anything.

Do you remove the old siding first?

Yes. We tear off rather than side over the top. Going over old siding hides whatever is failing underneath and adds thickness that throws off your window and door trim.

What happens if you find rot?

We stop, show you what we found, and price the repair before continuing. Your estimate includes a written allowance for this so it is not a surprise number invented mid-job.

Vinyl, fiber cement or cedar — which should I pick?

It depends on your budget, your house’s style, and how much maintenance you want. We will walk you through what each one costs to install and to live with, and we are happy to tell you when the cheaper option is the right call.

How long does a siding job take?

Most single-family homes run one to two weeks of on-site work, weather permitting. Tear-off and wrap happen fast; trim details are what take the time.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration #212825, with liability insurance and workers’ compensation. Certificates on request before you sign.

Will the manufacturer warranty still be valid?

Only if the product is installed to spec, which is exactly why we follow it. We hand over the manufacturer documentation along with our own workmanship warranty in writing.
